written by William Bachrach and Clarence Bush and published in 1924 - William "Big Bill" Bachrach was a major influence on American swimming in the early 20th century - he was head coach of the Illinois Athletic Club where he coached Johnny Weissmuller, Arne Borg, Norman Ross, Sybil Bauer and Ethel Lackie - he was also head coach of the 1924 and 1928 U.S. Olympic Swimming teams - chapters cover all aspects of competitive swimming plus the techniques used by Bachrach to produce champions such as the pull-push in Weissmuller's stroke which became a fundamental principle in crawl swimming - 224 pages - ex libris
